Thrilling Blacktip Shark Chase on the Kaveri River Basin

It was a beautiful afternoon on the Kaveri River Basin as I welcomed Vinod Kumar for a fishing trip with Ray Charters. February is a prime time to head out on the water here, as the weather starts to clear up and the fish become more active. Vinod was excited to try his hand at some inshore fishing, and I could tell he was ready for an adventure.

We set out from Butler Beach and started working the river, trying a few different techniques. The water was looking good, and it didn't take long before Vinod hooked up with a feisty Blacktip Shark. That fish put up one heck of a fight, stripping line and making some acrobatic jumps, but Vinod kept his cool and we were able to safely release it. A little while later, he landed a nice Brook Trout, adding to the day's catch.

Throughout the trip, the fishing was steady, and Vinod was a quick learner, picking up on the techniques we were using. Between casts, we took in the scenery, watching birds glide over the water and enjoying the peaceful setting. It's always nice to get out on the river and escape the hectic pace of everyday life, and today's trip was the perfect chance to do just that.
