Butler Beach Florida Hunt: Mallards & Deer with Ray Chaters

Action-packed day from the get-go! Shrunga and their crew joined us for an August hunt that started in the early morning hours around Butler Beach. The partly cloudy skies with possible storms made for perfect hunting weather in Florida. We had our work cut out for us with Ray Chaters guiding this crew of eight through what turned into a memorable morning.

With our gear rigged and ready, we focused on pass shooting and decoy hunting to target the birds moving through the area. The mallards were active early, and we managed to connect on several along with a nice white-tailed deer that wandered into range. Florida's diverse habitat around Butler Beach gives us the perfect setup for walk-up hunting when the birds are holding tight in cover.

The changing weather kept the wildlife moving throughout our hunt. Our decoy spread worked well in the morning light, and the crew stayed sharp when opportunities presented themselves. We wrapped up the hunt with smiles all around and some solid success to show for our efforts.
