Battling Yellowfin Tuna Dominate an Exhilarating Day on Jacksonville's Waters
What a day we had out on the water in Jacksonville! I had the pleasure of taking shru on a Rock Sea fishing trip, and we made the most of the clear conditions throughout the day. March is a fantastic time to be fishing these waters, as the warmer weather starts to bring the Yellowfin tuna inshore.
We got an early start, meeting up at 4:00 am to make the most of the day. With the great water conditions, we were able to employ a variety of techniques—deep sea, jigging, trolling, you name it. The fish were really fired up, and it wasn't long before shru had a Yellowfin tuna on the line. That fish put up one heck of a fight, stripping line and making some crazy jumps, but shru stayed calm and careful, and we were able to boat that beauty. The action stayed hot, and we ended up landing a few more nice Yellowfin throughout the day.
Beyond just the fishing, it was just an all-around great time out on the water. The clear skies and calm seas made for a supremely comfortable day, and we got to enjoy the Jacksonville scenery while swapping stories and having some laughs. That's what these trips are all about—sure, the fishing is fantastic, but it's the whole experience that makes it really special.
