Mahi Mahi Mayhem and Shark Showdowns Ignite Inshore Excitement at Butler Beach
We had an incredible day out on the water with our client Kumar at Butler Beach. As an inshore fishing destination, March is a prime time to target a variety of species like Mahi Mahi and Blacktip sharks. The weather was a bit mixed, with some clearing in the afternoon, but that didn't dampen our spirits one bit.
We started off using a mix of techniques, including deep sea, jigging, and trolling, to cover as much water as possible. It didn't take long before Kumar's rod bent over with a nice Mahi Mahi on the line. That fish put up a heck of a fight, but he handled it like a pro and got it safely in the boat. After a quick photo, we released it to fight another day.

As the afternoon progressed, the action only got better. We started working some structure and Kumar hooked into a feisty Blacktip shark. That thing was pulling line off the reel like crazy, but he kept his cool and we eventually landed it. We snapped a few quick pics before carefully reviving and releasing the shark. It was such an adrenaline-pumping moment, and you could see the excitement on Kumar's face.
Overall, it was just an awesome day to be out on the water. The weather cooperated, the fish were biting, and we had a great time sharing stories and tips. That's what these inshore fishing trips in Butler Beach are all about—connecting with nature, pursuing exciting species, and creating lasting memories. If you're looking to experience the best of inshore fishing, I highly recommend booking a trip with Ray Chaters. We'll put you on the fish and make sure you have an absolute blast in the process.
