Reeling in the White Catfish: A Butler Beach Adventure

It was a beautiful day to be out on the water down in Butler Beach, Florida. The weather was perfect, with partly cloudy skies that kept things comfortable throughout the day. I met up with our guest, Shrunga, bright and early at 4:00 am at Butler Beach, and we wasted no time getting our lines in the water.

As an experienced inshore fishing guide, I knew the fishing would be solid in Butler Beach this time of year. February is a great month to chase White Catfish, as they're actively feeding in the warming waters. We started out with some basic inshore fishing techniques, working the flats and structure to find the fish. It didn't take long before Shrunga's rod bent over, and he set the hook on a nice White Catfish. That fish put up a good fight, but Shrunga kept his cool and expertly guided it to the boat.

The action stayed steady throughout the day, with Shrunga adding a few more nice White Catfish to the cooler. In between bites, we took in the scenic Butler Beach surroundings and enjoyed the peaceful day on the water. There's nothing quite like the thrill of feeling a fish hit your line and the satisfaction of bringing it in, and Shrunga got to experience that firsthand. By the time we called it a day, we had a nice little haul and some great memories to take home.
