Thrilling Inshore Fishing Adventure in Gulf Shores, FL

What a day out on the water! I had the pleasure of guiding shrunga on an Inshore Fishing Adventure in Gulf Shores down in beautiful Florida. April is a prime time for inshore action here, with the warming waters bringing the gamefish close to the shoreline. The conditions weren't ideal, with some cloud cover and a chance of rain or snow, but we were determined to make the most of it.

We started the day off casting lures and live bait into the nearshore structure, looking to entice some Yellowfin tuna and Mahi Mahi. It didn't take long before shrunga's rod bent over hard—he'd hooked into a feisty Mahi that put up one heck of a fight on the light tackle. After a bit of a tussle, he managed to get that beauty into the boat. The action stayed steady, and before long he added an impressive Atlantic Sailfish to the mix as well. All the while, we were marking fish on the sonar and keeping an eye out for them busting the surface, ready to pounce on our offerings.

As the clouds started to build, we decided to change up tactics and try some deep sea jigging for the tuna. It wasn't long before the line started peeling off shrunga's reel—he'd hooked into a powerful Yellowfin that really put his skills to the test. That tuna made several strong runs, but he stayed calm and worked it masterfully, eventually getting it to the boat. What a thrill! We kept the deep sea tactics going for a bit, but the weather was starting to turn, so we made our way back in, happy with the variety and quality of the fish we'd been able to put shrunga on.
