Non-Stop Mallard and Deer Encounters in Florida's Dense Cover
Non-stop bites all day long! San and their crew joined us for an afternoon brush hunt during the summer season here in Florida. We started around 1:00 pm with partly cloudy skies and storms brewing on the horizon. The weather held steady for most of our time in the field with Ray Chaters.
Once the stage was set, we worked the area using still hunting techniques to move quietly through the thick cover. The crew posted at natural funnels while we ran a few drives through the dense brush. Florida's mixed terrain gives us plenty of options for both approaches. We managed to connect on mallard and white-tailed deer during the hunt.
The natural funnels in this part of Florida create perfect opportunities for posting hunters while others push through the cover. The thick brush holds game well and the varied landscape keeps things interesting. We wrapped up the hunt with smiles all around and everyone had a solid day in the field.
