Push Through Thick Florida Cover for Moving Whitetails This August
One for the books today! Shrunga and their crew joined us for an August afternoon hunt in Florida. We headed out around 1:00 pm under partly cloudy skies with storms possible throughout the day. Ray Chaters had us set up for a solid brush hunting trip.
With our gear rigged and ready, we focused on still hunting and drive hunting techniques to work the thick Florida cover. The white-tailed deer were moving well despite the afternoon heat. Jump shooting opportunities came up as we pushed through the dense brush.
Florida's thick palmetto and oak hammocks make perfect habitat for whitetails, and our hunting grounds delivered. The varied terrain gave us multiple chances to use different approaches. We wrapped up the hunt with smiles all around!
