Sharktastic Encounters and Feisty Inshore Bites Await at Butler Beach
Heading out for a day of fishing at Butler Beach was the perfect way to spend a February day. The weather was clear, and the water conditions were just right for some inshore action. As a guide with Ray Charters, I was excited to show our guest, Shrunga, some of the best fishing spots along the coast.
We started the day targeting Blacktip sharks, which are plentiful in these waters during the winter months. The clear conditions made it easy to spot the sharks cruising the shallows, and with some skillful casting, we were soon hooked up. Shrunga put up a great fight, and we were able to safely release the shark after a few exciting minutes. Moving inshore, we switched tactics and started casting lures for Striped bass and Brown trout. The fish were actively feeding, and we had a steady bite, with Shrunga landing several nice specimens.
By the time we wrapped up the trip, I could tell Shrunga had a great time. The variety of species and the lively action kept us engaged throughout the day. That's what I love about these inshore fishing adventures - you never know what you're going to hook into, and the thrill of the catch is always balanced by the chance to enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery.
