Moonlit Mackerel: Night Fishing Adventure on the Kaveri River Basin

What a day we had out on the Kaveri River Basin with Michael and his friends! February's a great time for backcountry fishing around Butler Beach, with the water warming up and the fish getting more active. We met up at Butler Beach at 10:45 pm, which was perfect for a night fishing adventure. The weather was partly cloudy, but that didn't slow us down one bit.

We kicked things off with some deep sea techniques, then switched it up with jigging and trolling. The group was game for anything, so we even tried some fly fishing and light tackle. It was non-stop action! We hooked into some King Mackerel pretty quickly, and boy, did they put up a fight. But the real surprise came when we started pulling in 30+ inch trout. Those beauties were everywhere! And just when we thought it couldn't get better, we landed a few mahi-mahi. Talk about a mixed bag!

The Kaveri River Basin was really showing off. We moved around a bit, trying different spots and techniques. The partly cloudy sky actually worked in our favor, keeping the fish active. We did some drift fishing, which was a hit with the group. Michael and his friends were quick learners, picking up the different techniques like pros. The night fishing added an extra layer of excitement – there's something special about feeling that tug on the line when you can barely see the water.
