Brooktrout Bonanza on the Kaveri: A Fishing Adventure for the Ages

It was a beautiful, clear day when Sachin and I headed out to the Kaveri River Basin for some back-country fishing. February is a fantastic time to be on the water here, as the mild weather and receding rains create ideal conditions for targeting Brook trout. We met up at Butler Beach, got our gear sorted, and then made our way out to our fishing spot.

As soon as we started casting, the fish started biting. Sachin was into a nice Brook trout within the first few casts, and the action just kept getting better from there. We used a variety of techniques, mixing in some live bait fishing with our usual lures, and the trout were absolutely crushing everything we threw at them. It was non-stop excitement, with fish after fish coming to the boat. We had an absolute blast working the river and watching those beautiful Brook trout come alive in the clear water.

The overall vibe of the trip was just so positive and relaxed. Sachin was great company, and we spent as much time laughing and swapping stories as we did actually fishing. Between the steady action, the gorgeous surroundings, and the good vibes, it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon on the water.
