Chasing Lionfish and Trout: An Exhilarating Backwater Escapade in Butler Beach
Today's trip out on the water with Anoosha at Butler Beach, Florida was a fun and productive one. February is a great time for BackCountry fishing in this area, as the cooler weather and calmer seas make it ideal to get out and chase some fish.
We started the day by getting our gear ready and headed out to our fishing spots. It didn't take long before Anoosha hooked into a feisty Red lionfish that put up a great fight. After landing that beauty, we kept working the flats and structure, trying different techniques like fishing to see what the fish were responding to. Before long, Anoosha had a nice Rainbow trout in the boat as well.
Though we didn't manage to land any trophy-sized fish, it was still a very enjoyable trip. The weather was pleasant, with just some scattered clouds keeping things comfortable. And between the solid action on the fish and the nice scenery all around, it was the perfect day to be out on the water. Anoosha did a great job sticking with it and staying patient, and it paid off with some nice catches.
