Casting Lines and Making Memories on the Kaveri River Basin

Today we headed out on the water for a fishing adventure in Jacksonville, and despite not landing any big catches, it turned out to be a fantastic day on the Kaveri River Basin. As the sun rose over the calm waters, I met up with our solo guest, Shrunga S, at the Jacksonville meeting spot right at 4:00 am. March is a great time of year for a wide variety of fishing here, with clear conditions and the fish really starting to feed aggressively as the weather warms up.

We had the full arsenal of techniques at the ready - deep sea, jigging, trolling, bow fishing, fly fishing, ice fishing, bait casting, heavy tackle, kite fishing, light tackle, spey fishing, surf casting, drift fishing, and spear fishing. Shrunga was excited to try his hand at as many techniques as possible, so we picked the ones that would give us the best chance at variety and action. We started off slow-trolling some live bait, covering depth zones and structure to see where the fish were holding. It wasn't long before Shrunga's rod doubled over, but unfortunately the hook didn't stick and the fish got away.

Undeterred, we kept at it, mixing up our approaches and trying different lures and baits. The variety of techniques allowed us to target all kinds of species, but the fish just didn't seem to be cooperating today. We saw some promising signs, with baitfish and birds working the surface, but the big predators remained elusive. Still, Shrunga kept a great attitude, and we made the most of our time on the water, enjoying the beautiful scenery and having some good laughs.

This Trip is One Click Away

Even though we didn't manage to put any fish in the boat, I know Shrunga had a great time out on the Kaveri River Basin with me. Fishing is as much about the experience as the catch, and we definitely made some memories today that will last. If you're looking to get out on the water for an epic fishing adventure, whether you're after trophy game fish or just want to enjoy a beautiful day, be sure to book your trip with Ray Chaters in Jacksonville. We've got the knowledge, gear, and passion to make it an unforgettable experience, rain or shine. Can't wait to have you join us next time!
